Job Description:
Summary
The Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level position. Following a
training period, the Technician should be able to decipher and
enter orders on the computer, compound IVs, charge and credit, fill
orders, answer phones and doors, and stock the department.

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Other Information
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compounds oral and topical solutions and ointments.
Answers phone, retrieves tubes and faxes. Helps with duties as
directed by the pharmacist on duty.
Able to add barcodes to products, including compounded items,
IVPB's, etc using the MILT 3.0 program, and using PharmNet
Inpatient Formulary Manager to check NDC numbers and barcodes.
Other duties as assigned.
Equivalent Experience and Other Comments (Education)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Successful completion of annual exam for Aseptic Technique within
90 days of hire and annually thereafter required.
Computer experience required.
Good math skills (pass a standard test), good organizational
skills, a team player and ability to work under high pressure and
time constraints are all required.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with
individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to
communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable
manner.

Medical Terminology knowledge preferred. Hospital or Retail
Pharmacy experience preferred.
