Job Description:

The Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) will performs a variety of hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions as directed by a physician or in response to previous test results, including carotid duplex ultrasound imaging, arterial duplex imaging, venous duplex imaging, and doppler ultrasound, plethysmography, pressure measurements, and other methodologies to evaluate patients suspected of having peripheral vascular disease. Post evaluations, the Registered Vascular Technician provides written preliminary interpretation of test results and communicates to the care team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:May perform therapeutic procedures, such as pseudo aneurysm compressionRecords and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test resultsAssess patient's condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performedEvaluates patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic procedures including duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressure measurements and active or passive hyperemic challengeRecords test results and reports the results to the physicianDocuments and prepares patient records for review and interpretation by physiciansParticipates in quality improvement activities such as evaluating procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintaining appropriate logs and recordsMaintains equipment to ensure conformance with specific operational/facility standardsMaintains equipment in working order, performs routine cleaning and preventive maintenance per policy, and reports any equipment malfunction to supervisorMaintains all necessary supplies (ordering and stocking)Performs other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:Current registration as a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) through the American Registry ofDiagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as Registered Vascular Sonographer required.Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
